José González’s Criollo Clasico’s style is a blend of classical, folk, and contemporary Latin rhythms. Playing with González will be his sons, Ahmed González on flute and guitar, and René González on percussion.
BIO
José González is acclaimed for his original compositions featuring the cuatro, Puerto Rico’s national instrument. His music is featured on NBC, PBS, CNN, and on cable TV, as well as on four “Putumayo World Music” CDs and the PBS “Visions of Puerto Rico” TV special. González, a pioneer of Spanish-language rock in Puerto Rico, guitarist, composer and virtuoso cuatro player is a top performer of contemporary Latin music.
