The Time Stretchers: A short bio
The origins of the Time Stretchers date back to the late 70s when Barry Searle (guitar), Clark Howell (drums) and Pete Rzasa (pedal steel, harmonica) first met to form The IronHorse Band. The Iron Horse Band was a high-energy country rock band based out ofGranville and backed local singer Bruce Pratt on his first LP. The group played extensivelyin western Massachusetts, throughout Connecticut and beyond. After disbanding Clark went on to play with Buddy Cage, (steel player from the New Riders of the Purple Sage), and thebands Radio Ranch and Bigfoot Melvin. Barry and Pete went on to found the group FullSteam Ahead and both later joined the top local country band Broken Spoke. Pete alsoplayed with Western Electric featuring Patty D’Anzaris. Barry joined the Donna Lee Band in 2002 playing throughout New England in support of her Nashville album Dancing Around It.
Additionally the group did Patsy Cline and Fleetwood Mac tribute shows. They also did Haggard and Harris tribute shows with Donna doing the Emmylou Harris songs and Barry doing the Merle Haggard songs. In addition, Barry, Clark and Pete have done extensive session work with many bands and playing throughout New England.

It was in the Fleetwood Mac tribute band that Barry met harmony singer Sarah Miller and a strong connection was found based upon a shared love of many styles of music and an outstanding musical chemistry. The Time Stretchers was born when Barry and Clark reunited at an informal jam session and asked Sarah to join in. This union very quickly evolved into a working trio in 2017.Meanwhile, Pete while after retiring from music for a time, has resumed playing (pedal steel, dobro, and harmonica) and is sounding better than ever! He now joins the Time Stretchers group whenever possible.

The Time Stretchers is known for strong lead vocals by all members and also its intricate and impressive vocal harmonies. The group features Barry and Clark on guitars and Sarah on percussion and melodica. The repertoire is an enjoyable mix of songs from many artists and many genres from the 50s to the now! They are constantly expanding the songlist, but frequently-featured artists include the Beatles, Linda Ronstadt, Tom Petty, Johnny Cash,Badfinger, The Pretenders, Steely Dan and many many more. Also, Barry is presently completing his first album of original songs and the Time Stretcher shows feature several of his songs as well.
Audiences love the Time Stretchers selection of great songs that others may have forgotten about. The Time Stretchers love it when people say, “Oh! I love that song”! And it happens. TheTime Stretchers:
